A lovely and funny baa el about a grumpy, taciturn and loving man and his relationships. Delightful, funny and moving. Sometimes the writing is a bit repetitive in describing his character.

Perfect story to cry about it and remember for a long time

I had a chance to finish the book titled A Man Called Ove. It was a funny interesting book. It’s about an old man that is bitter and angry with the world and is the most annoying neighbour. He’s not a bad guy, just pisses people off for minute things. Have you ever met someone like that? Yes in every neighbourhood, there’s that neighbour who acts like the appointed police/supervisor of rules to follow/comply. What I like about this book is that it shows the depth of Ove or annoying neighbour. Sometimes the angriest people carry the biggest load of sadness and being mean to people or not collaborative is their way of showing they are in pain. I liked this book and saw the movie. The movie does not deviate too much from the book( A Man called Otto) . Tom Hanks and his real son do a great job in this movie. I’ll be more compassionate towards the Oves & Ottos of this world as they carry a life burden most likely that is too tough to bare often that they can’t hide it.

A sweet story of community and its power. Loved the ending.

So humorous, so touching-It had me laughing and crying on the same page a number of times. It avoids becoming too saccharinely sweet,which could have been a trap a lesser skilled writer would have fallen into. The characters are so believable and relatable; well fleshed out. All in all, this book was a delightful read.

Slow start but then I wanted to read more and more!! Loved this book and its meaning!

A roller coaster of emotions in this book. Frustration, pity, anger, love. One wonders where this improbable story will end. But it is not so improbable. Most people will recognize at least some of Ove’s drives in themselves. Maybe the story is less about Ove and more about fate.

A beautiful, funny and poignant read! Didn’t want to put it down.

Funny, lighthearted and completely engaging. A must read. cantankerous introverted retiree, Ove , finds fame and fulfillment after giving up on life when his wife dies.

Loved this book from beginning to end! Light reading and very funny.

I read about 40-50 books a year and rank this as one of my favorites. The story was hilarious but also familiar. We all know an Ove and we are all surrounded by people who drive us crazy. You'll laugh. You'll shed a tear. You'll learn to appreciate the crazy and the curmudgeons.
